0:07being here I am in Tony Robbins jet good to see you thanks for inviting me on
0:12your jet am very excited to be here a lot of crazy boys for me but I have to
0:15go so quickly running gun interview a documentary coming out right now that
0:20you're headed to Palm Springs or so we're we're doing on the jet which is
0:23incredible and inspires me about the topic we're covering which is on your
0:27book money master the game 7 simple steps to financial freedom you've shown
0:34that you have the financial freedom but you didn't always have money for freedom
0:37in fact when you're growing up you were really poor right we have no money for
0:43thanksgiving for food is part of why last year I bet I started feeding when I
0:47was 17 I started feeding families that was 11 and I said to families literally
0:52it was so moving ceremony w124 than a minute was a game it could reach more
0:58people than I started with some employees and then eventually got two
1:02million people you're about two million that I started matching my foundation
1:05with two million super 12 years i've had for many people here and there was
1:09writing this book if you can imagine all these people start with nothing and
1:13multimillionaires at the same time congress cut food stamps cold snap now
1:17but I really like eight billion dollars so its equivalent to give you an idea of
1:23everything we've is being supported giving up all their meals one week of
1:27every month for 12 months so I decided I wanted to do something about it so I got
1:32a five million dollar man to the book I give all the money to Feeding America
1:34and then I said I wanted you two hundred million people want to go to do so I
1:37wrote a much bigger check and now I'm so we did a hundred million people last
1:41year but now I'm gonna do after moving in this year and I got a plan to feed a
1:44billion people over the next ten years so it's it's so full circle from where I
1:49began its crazy and it's it's it's an incredible privilege to be a big
1:53difference like that how is why is it important to be thinking of giving and
1:57contribution in order to generate well when people say that why don't have much
2:01to give barely make enough to pay my rent my food how can I have the mindset
2:05of giving
2:06in order to build well for you say it's it's the only you never get beyond
2:10scarcity gotta start beyond got a plant your feet and you know people say when
2:15I'm Rich I'll get some if you will give a dime out of $1 you're not I can
2:19promise you're not gonna get 10 million out of a hundred billion not a trillion
2:23years so if you but if you start when I always believe is it it transformed you
2:28when you have a group of kids that I went to Mike when I was 31 years old I
2:33was invited to this great school in Houston Texas each grade did a little
2:38mini assembly for me of what they have used my stuff you know at that year and
2:43it was really emotional as like you guys ask me comments prior you've inspired me
2:47so the sixth grade is only good for one year and i said im gonna sponsor college
2:52education at no idea how is gonna do it I don't have the money to do it I was 31
2:56years old I was doing well but not that well and I someone paid your college
3:00education is based here are the rules of the game against me to applause right
3:03there I said you gotta keep a B average I'll get you mentor there's no excuse
3:07not to be above average you gotta not use drugs do not get yourself in prison
3:12and you gotta give me 20 hours of community service a year and the reason
3:18they do cuz i dont college education but I knew if I got these kids who thought
3:22they needed something to be the ones to go get something it would change their
3:26identity will change your life more than college and ironically I think seventy
3:31kids I lost 95 persecute those gonna lose I watched the first year like 30
3:38kids and the reason was their parents did not want to do community service
3:42they said they should be receiving the shouldn't have to work and it was just
3:46staggering to me but the ones that did it
3:49some of PHD's now went through that process so I really believe that the
3:53secret to living as giving as corny as it sounds I haven't experienced where I
3:58was driving on the 57 freeway not far from here in San Gabriel Valley and it
4:02was midnight or drive my 1968 Volkswagen bug and I was been in business for you
4:08know a year and a half and I
4:10woodworking my guts out and I was so frustrated because you know I always say
4:15that most people overestimate what they can do it here in the underestimate
4:18remainder of the decade or two or three right so I've been working this year and
4:21a half as hard they work if it was working well I wanted it was so
4:25frustrating as mad with myself is bad for the environment I was feeling
4:28overwhelmed stressed midnight I'm exhausted and all the sudden this party
4:34literally pulled over the side of road and I always get physical journals
4:38journal to this day and I read on this one whole page the secret to living is
4:43giving a nice up there and I cried cuz I just realized my life for the last year
4:48had gotten focused on why isn't it working out how do I give more and I'm a
4:54bit shift and will most important shifts in my entire life and for probably a
5:00year things start to get better and then you know your business you make mistakes
5:03as young young kid and I found myself all of a sudden a bachelor apartment and
5:09lost the progress and I was so broke that I wrote about this in my book
5:16how do I get the spot across the somebody in most seminal moment for me
5:19was had 21 $20 whatever was to my name given to foreign stripper bachelor
5:26apartment I'm sorry for myself I'm watching local or general hospital I was
5:32a mess I was a total mess and I realize I'm not babe and I'm out of money and I
5:40don't have any prospects for some new cash and short-term
5:43eat so I decided to go to all you can eat salad bar that they had around the
5:50corner this place called El Torito still there Marina del Rey and I lived in bed
5:54us so it's about a three mile walk I didn't think the cargo gonna pay for
5:58parking you know how I walked here and I we need to have this meal right
6:02basically loaded up for the winter I plates of food tacos and flowers and
6:07everything else I was sitting there there was a little boy that came in the
6:11open the door to his room before the fastest lawsuit
6:14miners also like that you know ten
6:17and any help the door open walk behind the beautiful woman who was clearly is
6:22better and so you know I definitely took it in and then he sat down to pull up a
6:27chair for her he was just so attentive to his mother and you just saw with her
6:32honestly I was moved and swordfish and then I got up I paid the bill I don't
6:38like $6 those days you for all you can eat out or whatever so I had whatever is
6:43left 17 18 19 dollars when I walked over the left and I said however i said im
6:50told his name was Paul it was a little boy I suppose I said you are class after
6:57I said I saw the door open for your woman I saw you pull up a chair for her
7:01I said take it or not the ones like that that is really cool and I think that's
7:07even more cool and it's a technological why didn't you know what I think is
7:12eight or nine nine years old and the job yet I said yes you are taking a large I
7:17reach my pocket I took whatever was $72 a drop in front of had no plan to do
7:23this
7:23manufacturer that wasn't trying to press this woman and he looked up at me like
7:28shocked because I'm bigger than you are an evil laugh like crazy and I didn't
7:35say another word I just walked out the door then you look as bob and I gotta
7:42tell you it was the most powerful experience of my wife because I didn't
7:47walk home I kind of food home and I should've been like what is the matter
7:51with you you have no money for food you don't waffle pennies you out well but I
7:56had no fear I had no scarcity and I got home I realize what I don't like bill
8:03money that nobody was trying to conserve by going there you and I don't know I
8:09just thought I'd worked on a plan I figure this out and the next day I got
8:13the old snail mail
8:14and came around like noon and I hope his letter and you know me and I have loan
8:22$1,200 to he had not be back and I was desperate for cash I probably called him
8:27in times try to track down not a single response and I was passed and here's the
8:33letter from this guy saying I'm really sorry I know you've been trying to reach
8:36me I've been avoiding new and here's the money and I'm gonna give you some
8:42interest as well so I got at that point I would like more money million so once
8:47again I'm sitting there tears run down my face emotional character I just
8:52thought to myself you know why did this happen and I chose to believe shows to
8:59believe that it's because I let go
9:03trying to just take care of myself I did what was right I didn't plan it I did it
9:07spontaneously I thought about right to me I do it and I thought no scarcity and
9:13I can tell you how tough times you are eating companies and my manager actively
9:18got 1200 people use on multiple continents we do five billion a year in
9:21sales across different industries now it's a different world for me now but
9:26since then I've been near bankruptcy multiple times and companies and things
9:30like that and I pulled it off always never bankrupt but I spaced really tough
9:35times I never went back to that level scarcity not since that day so it's a
9:39long way of saying when you have nothing is when you need to give you know if
9:44your gonna wait to think of something you're never gonna have something of any
9:47size or scope there's something inside the human psyche that when you do what's
9:51right and you get outside of yourself or something that will click for you and
9:55also you know how you doing a superb example I don't know anybody regardless
9:59of religious belief
10:00whose top 10% of their income for a decade and not prospered massively
10:07sir john templeton was the first billionaire investor was the first
10:10person is about to meet a Tony I know you tired but he said five more he said
10:16do more and more and he said you'll receive more just how it works
10:20to be absolutely true continue to get more and more every year right texture
10:25five million bug me work on a book for four years and have all the prophets and
10:29then I want to feed more people there was another big jump above that so now
10:33I'm doing it this year I'm gonna do for the next ten years I love hearing a
10:38story I heard this story before but I'll always captivates me who was the most
10:42influential person in your life growing up was she she taught me too she
10:50demanded that I shop in a different way than most people would meaning she
10:55wanted me to gross you want to be successful as you push me incredibly
10:58hard but also she was kind of drug addict description drug addict she over
11:03you use those engines and alcoholic we have no money has 1200 square foot house
11:07and my four different fathers all lived in the living room at different stages
11:11she had her own room and she would call me every day on the phone 1 1955
11:15securing your own food I pick it up and give you instructions and I go to the
11:18school store my bicycle and buy the groceries and make the meal I really
11:23literally didn't see my mom most days and I do not see any difference so she
11:28gave me an incredibly high standard and she gave me a big challenge and she was
11:31physically abusive head against the wall by Balaji part would suck down my throat
11:36I tripped out I was lying and I loved her new issue of me so it's confusing as
11:41hell but she made me a practical psychologist cause I had a lot of a
11:45younger brother five years younger younger sister seven years earlier I had
11:48to figure out how am I going to keep them from getting her if she had been
11:54the motor I thought I wanted I wouldn't be 110 this driven I wouldn't you know I
11:58suffered so much that's why I'm going to do anything at this stage in my life but
12:04I am ordering today the one so she was the most important person the next most
12:08influential person where sentiment towards I had Jim Rohn in a person about

12:20me strategy taught me how to produce results that people thought would take
12:24decades

12:53mentor for me so I have a lot of brilliant people I'm always I coach
12:58others liked the work for forty years right well not quite
13:023934 not a question of friend of mine at O'Keefe askew said with all the tools
13:09you've learned that was welcomed information over 39 years almost four
13:13decades strategies to break people through to help them overcome their
13:18challenges if you could only have got a strip mall away can always use one
13:23strategy of one thing to use will that be I wouldn't know why I'm effective is
13:30good i dont wanna buy back always looking for more strategies one strategy
13:34to overcome one person not with another but philosophically I would say that the
13:40capacity to
13:43strengthen and increase your hunger is the one common denominator amongst the
13:49most successful people you know Richard Branson's give him my number Steve all
13:55these guys they've never lost their hunger most people are hungry to achieve
13:59a certain amount make a certain amount of money in the Niger comfortable relax
14:02or to get a certain level of fitness in the miralax but you know richard is
14:07driven today as when he was 16 years old story on fire
14:1265 years old or above it is eighty-five years old he's driven today as when you
14:17know you begin the journey right and so people that have that hunger I believe
14:21intelligence I love people with a wickedly smart and I work to be wickedly
14:26smart by educating and training myself and so forth training my brain but told
14:32people can't by the way a paperback hunger is the ultimate driver cuz if
14:38you're hungry you can get the strategy get the answer if you can model it you
14:42can find it so hunger modeling would be maybe the next best skill knowing that
14:47success leaves clues like why reinvent the wheel if someone took this plane was
14:54flying to owns the Miami Heat and owns carnival right i mean when his wife and
15:04so why would I go learn by trial and error and maybe take her twenty years
15:09when I could learn from somebody in a few weeks or a few months a few hours
15:13something that could save me that's what it is that's why I read several books of
15:17the first seven years if somebody takes 10 years porno book and I can read that
15:22in our two or three reporter why wouldn't someone continue to stay hungry
15:26rediscover what they're hungry about the best way to get around words better
15:32things will get around words better and things will get you who you spent time
15:37with us who you become
15:38so you know when I started coaching all these billionaires you know there's a
15:43part of me but i you know i i would start them in certain areas I gotta step
15:48my game up it's not about money it's about how can I take the invisible make
15:53it visible how could I find a way to add more value to other people just such an
15:57extent where economics are not a question whatsoever and then I can take
16:00those economics and do even more run on their money is portable power i can
16:05leverage my money to do things to people even when I sleep I love doing his
16:10report I worked eighteen twenty-eight days but it's really nice to have the
16:13leverage of that as well
16:14share in a few cents is what would you say is your current vision what's what's
16:20the vision you have and what's the legacy that you want to leave you seen
16:25Hamilton the plane credible that's what I thought was a lot of hype it was as
16:34good as the problem there's a line in Hamilton that was really interesting its
16:38legacy is planting seeds in the garden that you'll never see me is really
16:44interesting but so for me I want to create you'll never hear me it's human
16:52lives for me it's it's i wont my life is about being a blessing in the lives of
16:57the people I mean I hope whoever decides to watch the video I want something here
17:02will strike them and they could say I gotta get proximity or I got a raise my
17:05standard or I'm gonna go mastermind I hope it stimulates someone in a way
17:11where it becomes at once again the life and legacy of the lives that have
17:15touched my legacy is the institutions that have dogged him right now but when
17:19I'm gone will continue to touch people foundation the work that mentoring with
17:23kids I mean the ability of touch another generation but my heartfelt prayer every
17:27day is a blessing and you will see some of your blessing just by giving somebody
17:31a few moments just by rubbing on I'm just being them sometimes you're being a
17:35blessing because you coach them were you interviewed with them you can be a
17:39blessing in so many ways but that's my daily focus and it's not what I'm gonna
17:43build for the long term it's really what am I gonna do right now
17:46why is that why do you want to see less about legacy than it is about doing what
17:54I made for one year and maximizing the end I wanna be claiming that out when I
18:00die not slightly so to me it's about rope and it's about giving us the only
18:04things that the human beings I always tell people you want to be obvious one
18:08word progress you can make progress and if your progress is not only would be
18:12yourself but it's actually doing something of value for more than
18:15yourself you're gonna be a real person how do you stay grounded in your
18:20personal and intimate relationships and everyone wants a piece of you you sell
18:25out of ten twenty thirty thousand people come to participate tens of thousands of
18:29dollars every once in your view you you're coaching presidents billionaire's
18:35world-class athletes they call you they want you to help them break through the
18:39next level stayed grounded in your marriage or with your kids are with you
18:44know friends my mom my mom's craziness I wanted to be a professional athlete and
18:51professional baseball player and what I got cut to the junior high school team I
18:55figured out of trouble
18:57sportscasters birthright off and so I took piping when I was a junior high
19:02school I was the only boy in an all girl shorthand classes I could capture
19:07everything I want to be the best reporter best sportscaster I reviewed
19:10Howard Cosell and Woody Hayes and Dodgers rambling got a job working for
19:13daily newspaper was 13 I got this huge break which was accompanied by Joe
19:20Namath
19:21I get these interviews in here in LA kttv Channel 11 Fox channel they were
19:28trying to get viewership and so they kept trying different kinds of
19:30sportscasters they even tried to ban he fucks the stripper and somebody wants
19:35some interviews I did and what holy shit this fourteen-year-old kid was about to
19:39be 15 he's really he's giving interviews nobody else is getting you know so they
19:44called me up and he offered me the job to be the nightly sportscaster azeris
19:49turning 15 and I was my dream I was growing up when I was like 25 or 30
19:56and my mom said to me your egos too big if I let you do this year the bigger and
20:04she not only would not let me take the job she made me quit my job working for
20:09the whole time which is a daily newspaper reported California during
20:12sports and I and I was devastated but it created a sensitivity incited me that
20:19that that along with I think watching athletes who would not sign a card for a
20:24kid because they were making money so cards would make me so angry that I'm
20:28never going to be one of those people and so I'm not you know I i certainly a
20:32point of pride would have been able to accomplish that I always know I'm just a
20:36guy and while I work my ass off I've also had grace of my life I think when
20:42you achieve things that come from
20:43incredible sense of focus massive action in figuring out how to execute do things
20:50that practically in its grace and I never forget that that's a part of the
20:53formula for my life force today do you think people need a Liberty go to have
20:58that kind of drive and insanity obsession or the more disbelief in a
21:01bigger vision I think you know drive but that kind of ego will make you not be
21:08fulfilled and we all have it until we get a few hammers because in the
21:13beginning when you're young
21:14special young man I think even more so than a woman you know you're trying to
21:20find yourself you're trying to prove yourself to the world and really try to
21:23promote yourself I can be very beginning to me I use the tax psychiatrists and
21:27psychologists because I care about people so much alike as I want to help
21:31women in our network with someone for seven years and I just go crazy but I
21:35was also attacking them because I was also defensive cuz i dont have a degree
21:38so I figured I'm gonna be on the offensive I'm gonna show them but as I
21:43grew up I realized that these people care just as much as I do
21:47now have trained 200,000 therapists around the world with my partner coin
21:50but honestly make films of people's lives but suicidal people people who've
21:54been through how you get to watch how I do it outside view it and then you could
21:58see him two years later no really worked her question 25 decision you make today
22:04and does everything you touch turns into what I want it to be awkward
22:10failure is part of life I mean the difference for me though as I look a
22:15failure as a stepping stone to success like that it's a speed bump
22:19i know im gonna fail but it's not fail you learn something and so god I've made
22:24so many mistakes I'm screwed so many things up but every time I do it just
22:28becomes becomes away from you explain to someone else what it takes
22:33you know it's like here's what I've got a billion people cuz I talked about
22:37myself as I talk about all the things that mess me up when I show people that
22:41didn't stop me and you only stop you and I think I think that's really the seeker
22:45everything you touch with successful but I want to relate to people and also a
22:50total bullshit bullshit and also you'd be bored silly I mean think about it if
22:55you do said I want this to happen I want this to happen you know people don't
23:00value within a fight for you know it's like you see kids sometimes you know
23:04you're not gonna tell you this if you don't work for you just give it to be
23:09but it's true you know about things we've worked the hardest for we value
23:13the most so I think you know the purpose of the goals not getting it you know who
23:19you become who you becomes gonna make you happier gonna make you sad so I I'm
23:24not looking for an effort was approached there's no such thing I'm curious about
23:29relationships and building well as in importance to our our how important is
23:35it to have the right partner in a marriage or relationship relating to
23:40building wealth as it doesn't matter who you choose their mindsets the fact of
23:46how much you gonna make or it won't affect our relationship a lot right here
23:52getting on the same page is really really important but
23:55my wife and I met my wife we both grew up poor but I decided that I was gonna
24:00find a way to add so much value that money would there be a question for my
24:03family and I would never stop me from giving your doing sharing anything and I
24:08made that decision so I became an earning she became a negotiator a cost
24:14manager her moms thing is something comes in she was struck in your pencil
24:18that's not a good enough deal and so when we first met I remember we were
24:21here in New York City his dates me how old I am but I remember when they first
24:26came out with digital cameras the very first digital camera had it was like
24:30such a cool thing you could take 12 pictures but we were down in New York
24:36City Times Square and we went into one of those camera shops it was christmas
24:40time is like so excited about this camera and I said you know what you get
24:45with my brother my sister my mom was like 12 cameras will be expensive than
24:50$2,000 each they're really crazy that are like 200 for the same million times
24:57better but the counter because all my god 2012 is coming to a picture with you
25:02open the walls I for sure
25:05sharpen your pencil we're gonna deal you to get my boyfriend here I wanted to
25:09grab her by the throat disco what are you doing here and she's like know what
25:15the deal here he goes oh well I get 10% off sharpen your pencil paper sent you a
25:21picture of my boyfriend and I want to hurt her right and I was so mad I mean I
25:25was so mad and so she got like 15 percent off and free camera case and I'm
25:31shaking my head we left I was like we have this big bike today I don't call
25:37her squeaky squeaky she wants to go to Walmart as if we never knew and when I

26:29my little girls I'm thrilled choose not to think about it I'm in charge and I'm
26:36so I don't think your partner house 21 of you have to master it and you have to
26:40have a line but you don't want them to be against you essentially also gonna be
26:46we were against each other in some ways reopen fights but we eventually decided
26:49i wanna be writer 2012 love I'd rather do you personally also I just did you
26:56know that I am I i understand your intent intent but have been frustrated
27:02with her say this is really actually a call quality and she's my opposite in
27:07that area we're good we're good balance I write a lot of people that I grew up
27:13with who are poor who had a negative mindset around 10 that was bad what
27:19would you say to someone who has that mindset where they just have a story
27:22around money that isn't a positive one evil bad corruption whatever may be how
27:28does someone ship them like what's a daily practice is it something they can
27:32do right away it's the truth
27:33get to the truth the truth of simple money does not change people but it
27:37makes you more about you aren't a magnifying tool if you're mean got a lot
27:41more to be mean if your generous gift so it's it's bullshit that money as
27:47anything all money is as a symbol and we all projected on that simple different
27:52things you can you know if you feel out of control of many then you're gonna
27:55projected as he bought you feel incompetent someone else more successful
27:59all through the 1% there the jerks
28:02by the way the point oh oh one percent your point but it used to be
28:06aspirational to be at the 1% today there's this new mindset that says
28:10they're evil bear wrong the people in our society safer than 99% ry because
28:18half this plan on $2.50 a day right nine dollars a year you were considered in
28:26poverty in the United States you were the one percent of earners in the world
28:32you are the one percent poverty in poverty one percent of world powers so
28:40what you're doing something poor me while you're typing on your Apple
28:44computer or drinking a cup of Starbucks let me show me a picture of you know
28:48people that went camping out great kid
28:53corporations that they're doing they've been 99% they don't get me wrong I would
29:00entire book exposing the abuses in the system but here's what I said the system
29:05is rigged against you but you can still win but what you have to do is
29:09understand the rules of the game instead of complaining and whining and when I do
29:13I want to the very best and said how could you possibly win win seventy
29:17percent of the stocks every day are being traded by high-frequency traders
29:21so before you choose a poll on etrade and hit it as you hit in microseconds
29:26they see what you want they get it from him by himself
29:29multiple times make money off of you if you're a trader at the payment but if
29:34you're an investor over the long term it doesn't affect you at all and what I
29:39really try to detail people's how to get from where you are to where you want to
29:41be if you're a millennial that's got off his debts and you don't think you can
29:45ever be free I show you how your baby boomer and you're older you think I
29:49don't have any money I remember how to get that peace and if none of this is
29:54from my perspective I teach the emotional part but it literally is the
29:58fifty smartest minds in the world and we were talking before we started the

30:17you can't control of the system but there are few things you can control and

30:30third-grade like what does that matter not sexy but when I met with Jack Bogle
30:35who created and guard the world they got three trillion dollars with a TV and
30:41sixty-three years in the business he said Tony I know you care
30:45you've got to uncover for people where the fee structures are like for example
30:49most people in america have their money in their home or the 401k and is more
30:54prone to abuse in that system is so bad so when you uncover the fees and I did
31:00this in the book I created a system where people could go into show me that
31:03these dot com of their 401k and it shows you exactly the fees are and what it
31:07means to competitive because everyone percent in fees you pay more than you
31:12need to
31:13because of compounding you gave up 10 years of income when you go to retire so
31:17for example the average person put their money into mutual funds to go to work on
31:24Morningstar maybe 5 stars of its five-star gaudy overpaying for tacos
31:29they fight for and the average mutual fund pace 3.12% about the cost you think
31:36it's one percent but there's a thirty five-page document that if you know how
31:39to read it you'll find 17 why does that matter only three percent 3% compounded
31:44Europe two-year so what happens is you go out you put yourself in this position
31:49and you could pay for Vanguard for example of index of 114 basis points
31:55that's fourteen one hundredth of a percent of 1% 3% for the same product
32:03the exact same since thought so what's the difference
32:07well
32:08those three percent are going to cost you to give your perspective sixty
32:13percent of what you earn is gonna go to somebody else that didn't have to go to
32:16them just cuz you were so it's kinda like you want to buy a Honda Accord was
32:21give us $20000 but in this case $20,000 on a quarter of a million 24 that's the
32:27difference between 14 and 3.12 and so they're people living next door to each
32:33other that are paying a thousand percent more most 100% more for the same product
32:39there is no industry in the world took the financial history we can do that in
32:42a way to do as i confusing you so much that you give up and say just manage my
32:47money and so they take it away from you so the book explaining how to do that I
32:51also called portfolio checkup not comment i'd open so you could put all
32:56your accounts in there much slower K
32:58it pulls them for you in two minutes so to all costs shows you how much riskier
33:03truly taking and compare you to some of the best blogs in the world compares I
33:08don't just like the book I don't need all the profits made in doing it in if
33:11you want to work with someone I told everyone maybe percent of the people in
33:15the financial markets that you go to a well managed investment manager their
33:20broker and is no longer the broker except for just the salesman and they're
33:23going to tell you what the house told them to sell you have the house always
33:26wins and they were going to sell you under-performing assets cause neutral
33:31funds ninety-six percent of them never match the market over anytime you're so
33:36it's gonna underperforming overcharging I should go to a fiduciary new word for
33:40everybody
33:41the upward producer all it means is there's a small percentage of the
33:44population that's required by law to put your needs to have their own meaning if
33:50I told you I'm pretty sure I tell you by Apple this morning i buy it for myself I
33:57have to give you my stock that's how strong the laws yeah small group called
34:02RI a registered investment advisers or finishers so I was platform give the
34:08money to go to a producer and I recommend of the seven largest producer
34:11in the country
34:13and then five months ago I had one of the guys on the platforms as a company
34:19called creative planning and creative planning is the number one rated for in
34:23the world number one independent wealth manager by Bloomberg for three years in
34:27a row that's no one's ever done it three years two years around for CNBC and he
34:31built this family office it's like a family office it's a place where they
34:36have eight or nine people who won works on protecting you
34:40one works on your mortgage use one works on your taxes one to make sure you get
34:43the most efficiency ones working investments Office Depot the family
34:49office for people that are multi-millionaires and so it comes to
34:53meet with me he goes through these hidden rules milwaukee's great areas
34:59that are people are on the edge legally and everyone on your platform is doing
35:04this and he said it's called dual registration at what's that he said I
35:08tell you my producer as soon as you trust me and legally responsible take
35:12care of you when I have this dual registration so in the middle of a
35:17conversation I can switch apps income a broker and you don't know it and I can
35:20sell you some product cost two or three or four percent under reforms and you
35:25don't even know if you think I'm giving you independent advice and it's not a
35:28nice and I do the homework every firm really like we're doing it his way to
35:33get more margin for their bills so it's not right so I could I sent them with
35:39Peter and I said you're the only guy I've size twenty billion in assets is
35:43better 800 said you really got her number one i said i want more people you
35:48keep doing that but you build something another division that work with people
35:57with a little $50,000 and give them the CPA the tax give him everything the same
36:02any charges less than 1% 1.2 is the highest sum of money of course down to

39:01going to find balance balances I could teeter totter you know if you're ready
39:04to talk to get balanced for 10 minutes you and I what are we going to have to
39:07attend this summer's gonna start jerking us around as a fundraiser be bored out
39:10your mind so I think it was work-life integration in the more you can get the
39:14people you love involved with what you do for your mission or for your work
39:17then you have to worry about that will answer thank you let me ask you this

39:34created everything you've ever imagined the seed you planted are happening in

40:11things love is everything
40:16is giving and remember that the most important decision of your life is
40:24deciding whether you're truly committed to being happy no matter what because
40:28life is going to throw all kinds of horrible that all of us there's the one
40:34thing that's a common in this lifetime as extreme stress you're gonna
40:37experience it if you haven't already and even if you have you will in the future
40:40you like this positive thinking but it's just true someone you care about going
40:44to die
40:45someone's gonna take advantage for the angeli you're not careful you're gonna
40:48find yourself in a position the government might change the rules and
40:51you can't do what you're doing before someone call a timeout but causing a
40:55tumor in her brain those days
40:57alter you and if you decide that you're gonna live in a beautiful state of mind
41:03that doesn't just mean happy it means new people to be happy but my wife left
41:07me well then you're not going to be happy your community happy unless your
41:10wife leaves you and you can't control that you can certainly influenced you
41:13can control your gonna be happy except my friend died your friends are going to
41:17die if I'm gonna die so the greatest gift you can give yourself besides
41:21making his life about life about giving because to give you have to keep growing
41:27is I believe to make that decision and say life is too short to suffer and most
41:32achievers like you and I heard something but we get stressed we get pissed we get
41:38overwhelmed some people get Saturday press and those are all forms of
41:41suffering it almost your entire life you live in one of two states states of
41:45suffering or beautiful state of being in a beautiful state of being a couple of
41:53minutes what's good for you I know we're late for finishing right now
42:04in beautiful state to be it doesn't matter what happens to find something to
42:15enjoy and appreciate and you know I'm sure of chiapas born with no arms or
42:20legs or they have lost their site or enter happy and then you meet
42:25billionaires or people families they got beautiful kids beautiful has beautiful
42:29wife and they get miserable over anything I really believe you have to
42:34make the most important decision of your wife is that no matter what happens if
42:41you work which is I got a 90 second rule for frustrated suffering comes up it
42:47always shows up but I decided within 90 seconds like kill it because that's
42:52something state I'm not going to be there for my wife my kids and that's
42:55something I solve it I'm gonna be miserable even though it's alright I
43:00realized I would give away my happiness 1200 + in eighteen companies on multiple
43:08continents in multiple industries would have been chances that today somebody's
43:13gonna screw up something
43:15hundred-percent and so I would be happier than John did this or this
43:19person what were they thinking he opened the door or whatever and so that's the
43:28shit that's going to happen that part of you know having multiple companies and
43:32industries so I'm gonna enjoy it and when something doesn't work out we'll
43:37learn from it all small stuff right you don't sweat the small stuff it's all
43:42small stuff so I i've i've really experienced in the last year the
43:47greatest growth for me is not letting that suffering last encoding of
43:52suffering cuz it's inconsistent with my identity of public courses well right
43:55now I'd never do that so I don't and I call a spade a spade Mustafa suffering
44:01weary to suffering stress that is suffering and so if there if I know its
44:06esoteric as we're doing this in two minutes I usually take people out there
44:09like a day of experiences where they uncover this I ask people
44:13I asked you what are two of the most magnificent experiences of your life so
44:21far
44:26first two things that came on top of my head was visiting a third world country
44:29and building a school for kids and seeing their enjoying being
44:34inexperienced and then to others was achieving a dream of being an All
44:38American athlete when I wanted to early on when I worked with for so long and
44:42also not to pinch myself already in your time bestselling book having a dream and
44:48in creating a dream so let's now there's a pattern to those examples I'm just
44:53listen to the content them listening to tell me what you find out what did you
44:57feel when you go
44:59credible joy it was like like I was able to give I was able to use what God
45:06created for me to give back and support other people that contribution that
45:11service for me was a major thing to see what I was capable of doing for so many
45:16other people beyond myself and when he became an all american what did you feel
45:20a sense of what actually the first time I was on that I was really happy and it
45:25was really sad I was really upset because I was driven by anger to prove
45:29people wrong that I would become it so I made it happen by this willing in this
45:35commitment like proving everyone wrong and all people that screw me over like
45:40here's why you're good except me and why you gotta love me it didn't work and it
45:44wasn't fulfilling it was a moment and then I was like this us what's the point
45:48of this so so you just so beautifully demonstrated what I want to get across
45:53whatever we have our highest experiences of life
45:58two things are involved some form of growth within herself and some form of
46:01contribution beyond ourself I don't I could ask a hundred people as I've done
46:05this with thousands and they always tell me something that where they will face
46:09the fear overcame something but also in doing it through their family or
46:14benefits somebody else or like what you did with the building whenever asked
46:18people the worst experiences of my life they will tell me something and it was
46:23all about them
46:24you so what the reasons you value that experience is there was growth in that
46:29experience become the American but because you did it all just about you it
46:34wasn't feeling that's when I say about me about we and that's also why would
46:40people are suffering it's always good thing about yourself you're obsessing
46:45but something happened in the last you think you have less or something happen
46:50and you've lost something was lost money what significance lost attention lost
46:55something or because you did this because I did something myself I'm never
47:00gonna have something was less than ever are the sources are suffering and when
47:05you say no I'm suffering caused my children doing well know yourself free
47:08because you failed your children and your mind it's about you still when you
47:12get there also is the possession with self you can snap out of it all you have
47:16to do is stop expecting start appreciating you look around appreciate
47:20things outside yourself the people around you at a friends in your cross
47:24here major and then starting to enjoy something if you start to learn and grow
47:29from a few of which to me is an action if you if you give if you're grateful
47:34suffering disappears instantly but you have to tell yourself the truth only
47:39suffering is in your mind it's got this bringing is not designed to make you
47:42happy its two million result is designed to make you survive happiness is your
47:46job and happiness is a decision it's a daily set of practices in the difference
47:51from the beautiful like I have to say credible mission
47:57millions of people on this beautiful family love my wife physically strong
48:00and healthy but like a business if you measure the business annually the
48:07business but you're gonna have some bad years if you measure it monthly
48:10months daily when I picked over company turn around I find usually it doesn't
48:16know about business and five times a day in the beginning because the more you
48:21measure the better you can adapt and change I make everybody have to focus on
48:25it
48:26well what I've done with this area my wife is a beautiful course it is of
48:30course it is I know measure at moment to moment
48:33so if I feel that that's something that frustration that whatever is coming up I
48:37don't this is the mind I breathe in my heart I find something I can appreciate
48:42I become entertained by the experience and go you know what I'm a little
48:46beautiful state control and the things that most fleeting anyway one final
48:54question before asking I want to acknowledge you for everything when I
49:00was 16 I told you this last time when I was 16 my dad got me and my mom a ticket
49:04to go watch you and st. Louis the big arena actually don't Trump was speaking
49:10there but they were king who I just had dinner with recently was speaking
49:14overwrought
49:14over a TV and yeah by Skype or whatever it was then just twenty years ago or
49:20something and I never heard about you before my dad said you gotta go do this
49:25because I was going through a lot going throughout emotionally and I remember
49:29listening and watching and be so it's more inspired by like the football
49:34coaches that were there in the absence of jesse was there I think Jerry Reisman
49:39there something else like that I was more interested in that but why one
49:43woman who walked on stage walked up next to me
49:46stood there and i remember i dont know what you said but im gonna be made me
49:51feel the energy catalyst for possibility and I want to acknowledge you for
49:57creating that in me but so many people around the world are just being the
50:02catalyst for the next level was there was a great moment I didn't know that i
50:10would be doing you know a lot of things that you're doing
50:13nowhere with me but it helped me in my sports and my relationships in high
50:17school and college moment so I appreciate that and the last question is
50:22who in the world right now is the definition of greatness for you what is
50:28that definition
50:33you know my dearest friends Marc Benioff steve wynn peter guber
50:41Jones are all great what makes them great to me is there not only
50:46extraordinaire the best in the world at what they do but they are all givers
50:50they're all
50:51Jones create a Robin Hood is the largest most effective foundations so far in New
50:57York City for people who don't just give it away he's invested in getting the
51:01outcomes of the results like a person doing investments he wants to make sure
51:04that was all happen I was in San Francisco recently I'll give you
51:09something inspired that helped me a great I read in the census Chronicle
51:13that a group of nuns in the Tenderloin district that are being evicted they
51:18feed the homeless and they're being evicted because the man want to sell the
51:22property found a loophole victims so they literally have no place to go and
51:25no money and they're gonna be homeless himself and I'm like him so I flew in
51:33with guns and I said let me work the South you I said I'll find the leverage
51:38with us now and I went to find the owner and does that make it long ago business
51:42owner I could see you want to sell your building but you're pretty damned if you
51:45do it right now said you're gonna get hammered by the media so when a good
51:49deal I'll give you a year's worth of money for the higher level you want and
51:54you let him stay for a year and my promises all get them out within the
51:57year
51:58provide the resources get them out so I was going to just replace gone and then
52:03hung out with his ninth through a day and a half million conversation by phone
52:09constantly and these women live in a two hundred square foot little room with no
52:13windows and all we do every day is get up make the food and
52:17these people and I love them you don't just like the inspired by them for
52:25Easter I went and bought them a soup kitchen right so they have their own
52:28soup kitchen now no one can ever victim but I talked to mr. Tony Mr toads and
52:37they inspire me their greatness commits their life to something greater than
52:41themselves is great and someone who can achieve in give i think is unique and I
52:48love those people I know that most people I'm not dumb most people are not
52:53happy wife they're not physically fit they are not financially free and
52:58they're not relationship with a really passionate most people want but if you
53:03are and I'm obsessed with finding the few who do what makes them different
53:07than everybody else in the teaching that looks like you're doing the same thing
53:10that I rather not go off when you gonna fly

1:52right now there are people that have been the leaders in the industry forever
1:54and your ability to take that leadership from there has never been a greater
1:58opportunity of a lifetime and that's not based on positive thinking that's based
2:02on the fact that the rules of the game are turned they've changed they've
2:06shifted and the opportunity to compete for anyone to small business or large
2:11business the tools are there for all of us so these five days about how do we
2:16really master our businesses but how many would agree no business is really a
2:21reflection of anything but usually the leadership of the business with your
2:24group
2:25so really mastering business is mastering home for starters ourselves so
2:32we want to make sure in this program that will just sit and take notes on
2:35business and we sit kind of passively and take this and my focus here is to
2:39make sure that you get unbelievable value your community by these are only

3:26your business you gonna have that so our commitment is to make that happen it's a
3:30good challenge and I'm excited to do this I'm also challenged my excitement
3:34as I know what's coming for you and you don't some of them by the way are
3:40tending this program summer coming in from their stages to be able to teach
3:43here with this room is filled with people that are that army of one one
3:47person to starting it to you in this room and her people is really running
3:51multi-billion dollar business that the diversity we deliberately created this
3:55room because the core issues around master your business
3:59wall begins certain strategies or tactics may change the court doesn't
4:03change at different stages of business you need to focus on different things
4:07but certain elements are sacrosanct they can't be ignored the can you absolutely
4:12can't put yourself in a position where you fail to be on top of them that's why
4:17some businesses grow like crazy and then they lose some of those fundamentals
4:20later on they get overconfident you see those businesses take a huge hit and
4:25we've seen that recently have you will get a company like Lehman been around a
4:29hundred and fifty eight years billions in essence four months later what were
4:34they
4:34bankrupt I'm who'd have guessed in a million years you'll get a company like
4:40AOL dominant they were they own the internet now began lol account please
4:45don't share it with anyone
4:46embarrassing but own it and they lost it had more money more resources more

37:21about is how do we add more value to other people's lives than they've ever

37:43think it's so out of value because the customer thinks it's our job is to add
37:50value in ideally what business does is it gives you the ability to engender

38:51done that it has ever been really good at adding value and losing money raise

39:04have been profitable who does that again is the leader so what's the leader's job
39:09how'd they do that have the added value how to make sure that we got probably
39:15going to leave her job
39:19how they do it is making decisions ultimately come up with a leader really
39:23do if I said to you we got this business with a breakthrough this business right
39:27you see the business we're going to take a break the news business today to
39:31transform its business Robin work together to make this happen gotta make

40:13truth is a small problem in fact business even successful business has
40:18problems they just have better quality problems now changing your mind 51 your
40:27business leaders do it how they do it they add value to it they solve problems
40:33are you do that you make decisions some of the other ones right now see the
40:38future and what you write down a decision one or two decisions that you
40:43can make right now before we do anything else that would change your business
40:47immediately with the decision that you know you probably should make thinking
40:52about that sometime maybe something you're no longer going to do something
40:56that you're going to begin doing it's a decision you're making me be too late to
41:01change in personnel or change the way you run your time for yourself
41:07decision ideally to that would be business changing big one that's small
41:12but you know I have a big impact a small change you don't have a big impact in
41:18the second won't be tough decision but if you make that decision you know make
41:22a difference a sizable improvement in your business right now but a real
41:26decisions
41:26when you take immediate massive what when you just think about its not a
41:31decision to preference idea in the only stopping you
41:36the United focusing on it fear some fearsome uncertainty some pullback some
41:42concern so if there was concern if you're just gonna step up right now he
41:47said you have to make two decisions right now we've all you do is make these

45:21when you first are doing something that people learn to make ships snow around

45:26huge rapid change happens there's a giant growth occurs now would eventually
45:32happen to anybody when you start to learn something new sport a new business
45:37a new relationship when they get to what do you call a laptop so I think of it
45:42this way so people their philosophy of life is down boeing does they take on a
45:48sport like let's say tennis and when the brand new they know nothing about tennis
45:53do not hold the racket they don't have a swinger keep score they think love is an
45:59emotion when it's a zero nothing but from not knowing anything short time
46:06treating do they get pretty good yes or no if this is a hundred percent mastery
46:11in this is zero they might go to twenty or thirty percent growth
46:14I got within a few days a few weeks how many of our time saying here say I know
46:19what's interesting is it will be a top out yes or no don't be a point which
46:24they point to point out it's what you're doing the same amount of effort but
46:28you're not getting the same level and rewards you not making the same progress
46:32in the beginning how hard is it to make progress with your brand new company I
46:38mean creating a product is progress
46:41your first customers progress is progress for you or your new
46:46relationship just learning about each other and connecting and being intimate
46:51progress right in playing tennis taken passports are so much progress in every
46:57human being's experience there's a point where you're working just as hard but
47:01not making much progress and people don't like that that's why I told you
47:04this and what some people do at that point if you're a dabbler they decide to
47:09quit this is obviously the wrong job for me this is obviously the wrong sport
47:15this is obviously the wrong partner I shouldn't be a relationship with this
47:19person
47:20the minute they get to a point where they're not being fed their egos not
47:23being fed not growing they quit and so if this means for example that was in a
47:30position of tennis they might quit tennis and now they say you know what I
47:33mean
47:34racquetball we get so excited about racquetball because I called this is
47:39called a few days what happens if everybody we start from zero and what
47:44happens lots of what programs which feels really good really fast they
47:50didn't have a date didn't know how to turn her walk around in the ceiling in a
47:54few days Bama smashed the back home side were doing things season it's really
47:59cool part they get a new outfit cool guy God knows that when the new crop
48:05progress and stuff so guess what
48:08but eventually who knows what happens eventually they hit a lot and guess what

54:15know that person has answers they have a pathway to the result a powerful way to

54:29another 5 10 or 15 years by the time you get there you may not be enjoying the
54:34ride very much but the master can show you the path most people even when I try
54:39to get them to tell them they go to somebody else was not achieved it we're

54:47show me how to get people do that when we go to somebody who sells for you
54:53moves who's never really made any money they manage my money for me there's
54:58nothing wrong with that but if you're not making more than you are that's a

66:57number 12 you usually hear didn't have enough time but most of us who ever done
67:02any studies on this and found there's a paradox as a paradigm work always
67:08expands to meet the time you have for it
67:10who's ever had no time because of that you have a breakthrough this out before
67:14say I have enough time with the mixing this day I fail because you need to even
67:19go because quick money
67:23economic resource experience we have never experienced before how to do this
67:31to make it happen someone else in mind we fail you didn't help me know if it's
67:35your fault
67:36like many times you hear people say you know manual say I got lousy people
67:42people say housing management while 33 people none of resource and not enough
67:49money not enough time when house if the market conditions the market the market
67:55is really bad that's why if the markets right north of the market just as much
68:01business someone else why we fail the industry's bad what we feel that we
68:11don't know what to do we don't have the right network we don't know the right
68:14people while we didn't have the technology design and the organization
68:22we don't know the right context and all these things are being yelled seems
68:26you're telling me you're being held in the darkness hear this voice say I
68:29didn't have enough Supreme Court justices looked out of the darkness in
68:36its vice president al gore and already starts laughing right and this is a
68:43Northern California which is a very democratic stronghold group of people
68:47that were there in the technology business so they start clapping right to
68:52ask the presidency by even though he had a slight majority of the popular vote
68:58but he lost the Supreme Court absolute crap like crazy and I look at him and
69:04say that's one way to explain why you fail to become president at States
69:12so let's look at this whole pattern cause I'm Austin the palliative UN sexy
69:21you have to become standard pattern you got a good at pattern recognition and
69:25pattern utilization patterns give you the breakthrough that cue the play the
69:29game
69:31anticipate and they don't have to react power so that every person this room who

69:43time money we don't have people we don't have not the right management not the
69:48right people right don't have the resources I do all these things not a
69:53supreme court justices what they all have in common is you're all saying we
69:58didn't have the resources to succeed monies resource times Resource
70:04Technologies resource people's Resource experience as a resource Supreme Court
70:12justices are so many resource right we all agree it seems the only problem is
70:18in my experience in you correct me if you're wrong I want an honest answer
70:21when we get out of ourselves and we look at human beings and her really succeed
70:26or fail how many people you've ever met who did not have the resources and he
70:32beat somebody had all the resource I think resources you look at the most
70:38powerful effective people in history
70:41whenever the problem they didn't happen resources but pick up how people get
70:47resources when they don't have the answer is very resourceful we all commit
70:54resource is resourceful that's that's what makes some unsuccessful and yours
71:00what's great about resource miss who have that women who every human being
71:06who questions whether you access
71:08earlier you know this stuff but if you don't do it why aren't you doing it is
71:13not because you can't because you're not being resourceful enough you'll tell me
71:16the reason I went back in the market was like this I went back to my people
71:20wouldn't do that
71:21back but is there an answer to every one of those problems you have to know if
71:25you are one enough was enough to think of this way what's the ultimate resource
71:30that resource lose me but I'll give you more specific one human emotion human
71:38emotion because remember we said you can know what to do but not do it because
71:42you don't have enough emotion think about it the ultimate resource it's not
71:46time money and network computer system it is the right people if you are
71:53determined enough can you find the people yes or no if your creative enough
72:01money did you find the money as soon if you are warming up loving the connector
72:07enough can you help people help you yes or no
72:10doesn't matter what it is you want you can get the resources if you're
72:15resourceful enough and the ultimate resources human emotion so if you wanna
72:20master business must become a master of human emotion your own first and others
72:25you want a good example you can see them anywhere by the way you can see I mean
72:31when a large retailers in the world where companies that quick
72:35Omark take a look at Walmart you want to study some history find something
72:39interesting look at Walmart in 1974 go back and read the financial papers right
72:47what people are saying the market all the pundits were saying about what you
72:51should do with wal-mart in 1974 anybody know by yourself which virtually all
72:56these people things fell and he was the reason they've run out of resources for
73:03those resources were money what else money was a base but the big thing he
73:09said he's he's taken off the market
73:11there's only so many cities we can bring in one of these cheap you know low-price
73:16mentality
73:18details now with the belief by the way who is dominating the retail market that
73:23time
73:23Sears and Kmart you know in 1974 and 78 wal-mart's there were more than
73:34K-mart's tons the combined market value Sears and Kmart with Mike 10,000
73:45was Walmart what do these pundits miss the resources but human beings in the
73:56world they don't understand the value of usability go into his people maximize
74:00their energy their excitement get them so excited about a discount but they get
74:05the car and drive for cities over to make sure hope we can do he tried them
74:13on fire he threw himself on fire
74:17any produce more sales and Bruce more revenue or profit he got more funding he
74:22didn't believe with a plea deal different blueprint paper money couldn't
74:26do his truck and it is all mine and Walmart became her how they did it
74:33different belief system is that it is only so many cities were gonna go
74:37outside cities was a small population but they all could drive 20 to 30

76:57positive thinking BS because the resources you need are there if you're

8:09other people do you have to create a focus for the company for the
8:11organization to be successful yes or no to find somewhere people focusing on its
8:16affecting all the decisions of the company so such a focus on it when we
8:20get this decision number to this number two is what does this mean you focus on
8:26something big in the meaning is this the end or the beginning
8:31if you think this is the end of your business
8:34the end of opportunity the end of our economy are you gonna feel differently
8:40and act differently but if you can get the beginning now see the difference
8:45between Joe Kennedy with 1,000,000 bucks in 1929 and Joe Kennedy 180 + million
8:51dollars in 1932 that big a jump different focus different meaning what
8:56everybody else that it was the end not survive
8:59take market share you focusing on the opportunities work the meaning for him

6:44was in town in new home we're getting some of these hot springs are getting
6:49some really large crystals in there's a guy in town as crystal shop
6:52but you gotta make an appointment to see the guy is unbelievable so I get to know
6:57me talk to my friends with steve has been skiing ski for twenty years ago
7:01used to have his business he sold the business to become its money but he was
7:05tired of the stress of the business is that when I look at you every day so
7:12what he did was he started the business made plenty money business outside sites
7:17many times previous business every day and skis as a blast because you know
7:23he's the guest everywhere lies on the Gulf Stream doesn't have to pay for it
7:27doesn't pay the insurance that method for the fuel doesn't worry about me to
7:31managing it he found me all these things he does his wife billion dollar waste
7:37that billion in value structure his wife and way to fulfilling we have time for
7:41his grandkids we have time for his wife we have time for his passions he just
7:46doesn't a different way he had this big dreams that business noting that the
7:53answer for you but I'm saying sometimes you gotta reevaluate what's going to
7:57really make you what is your gift are you an artist are you the talent
8:02something no one else produces a skill or product or service or some impact are

9:40it's all happening at the same time you've always people together and go
9:43along is it really magnificent regardless of one's religious beliefs
9:47you know anyone who can be an experience where everything in his life was taken
9:52from him and yet still find a way to have a sense of meaning and before
9:57filled and not be angry and Rachel imagine your family being murdered
10:01matching your country being taken from you for almost 30 40 50 years you're
10:07living in this way you can't go home you know most people would not have a really
10:12great quality of life because what was going on in their head and heart would
10:16make them and see because clearly his wife conditions don't match the
10:21blueprint of what you thought it was going to be like most people that makes
10:25them crazy and yet this news to all this truly is the most loving human being
10:30he's one of the most generous human being the most compassionate
10:34he prays for the chinese soldiers that have taken over this country doesn't do
10:39it like I'm better than you just praises the brothers that though the hearts will
10:43open up things will shift their time is an amazing man brings all these people
10:47together as only the Dalai Lama can do and he's very self-effacing and he's
10:51very humorous and you'll always be my room in the beginning everything is
10:54really wonderful because you know getting together discuss how do we get
10:58our great traditions to work together and sure enough people get up and talk
11:02about who they're represent
11:04and what their Eunos active a particular religion and the impact how many people
11:09there becomes kind of a significant spike like a group of business people
11:12getting together fighting for position sometimes and at one point he got a
11:17little bit heated avedon promising the chair people wow how did you do this you
11:24can raise a family school child and everybody's talkin talkin you get this
11:29kind of quiet somebody called your holiness and he said we all represent
11:39such magnificent traditions we represent millions hundreds of millions of people
11:45around the world and he said we don't have to agree that the core all these
11:50people regardless of the tradition of following they have certain things in
11:55common as human beings as brothers and sisters of humanity and he said I would
12:00say it suggests that what they all have their tradition is one thing to be happy
12:07isn't that whether doing all this they want to be happy then went to have their
12:13children be happy they want to have a sense of fulfillment they just want to
12:16feel like their life has that experience of joy or pleasure or from film that is
12:23not what everybody wants it so maybe we should focus on the common elements that
12:28will bring happiness to all people we can find them at all our traditions
12:33maybe that's the direction we should go with this conference and you could just
12:38see all these heads very proud as in some cases nodding their heads like
12:43crazy I thought how beautiful how simple that's why you came here my friends
12:47that's why you participate in this program at some level you have a
12:51blueprint a mindset a belief system of philosophy a set of values that says I
12:58master this thing called my wife and my enterprise don't have this great feeling
13:03but what's really interesting about why I believe that extraordinary life
13:08however you define it has to master skills to it
13:11it the first go as the science of achievement achieved enormously at
13:17various levels of business or as an individual artists are talent as an
13:22entrepreneur or as a manager leaders an investor mean everybody goes through
13:25most of this room have really hit the jackpot by most of the world standards
13:30even though most of you think it's still not enough but the science of
13:33achievement is he still is a science there are laws to achievement even this
13:40course me that achievement is business is a spiritual game
13:46the spiritual practice of your business so that's money that's a horrible thing

13:58businesses the ability to take the invisible and make it visible and use
14:03what spirituality and creation is it's about how can I find the gift I have to
14:09give the world and how can I give it a way to truly adds value not I think adds
14:14value but the people receiving it they vote with their feet and saying this
14:18truly makes a difference in my life this is something you notice to become a
14:22customer did you know because they're thrilled with it you know they can
14:25become a raving fans just satisfied customer service customers will leave
14:30you reading things will stick with you you know how many of you here when I say
14:34the word let's say Microsoft the emotion with sound
14:43if I say Apple AAPL leader in any way Apple meet every mistake that could
14:54possibly make to go out of business I remember you know when Apple Store not
14:59making any software they changed the business and it came to me and said you
15:03know we've got to go early in our company's history we've gotta go to
15:06Windows 8 Windows is a piece of the poor copy of this that's absurd but there's
15:12no software and so every my company went there but I hung onto my people that
15:16have Association Apple are raving fans they stuck by it and now they got their
15:21iPods and now they've got you know they're magnificent computers and they
15:24know they have the best computers in the world they just smile but notice that
15:28most people associate the Microsoft even though is the biggest player in the
15:32world did you see about the emotions very few people you meet in a pissy
15:39about our example from the poisons one is a satisfied customer at best the
15:46others are raving fan if your gonna play the spiritual game of business the
15:50spiritual practice think about how fast can I take vision and make it real how
15:56can I sign my service my gift and give it a way that is most impactful that's
16:04really what this is really about now the second is that this is science to
16:09achieve we're gonna go through that science how do we create a sustainable
16:11system to make that happen but the second skill wife is less focused on
16:16ensuring have only management but create a role in extraordinary life got a
16:21message to the second that second master skill is the art of the film at the art
16:26of fulfillment and the order fulfillment I call it an art because art is like
16:31what one person thinks is beautiful
16:33somebody else made it is ugly but you have to be able to do is find out what
16:37is it for you that's gonna fill you and I'll tell you there's two primary
16:40elements that you've got to figure out what is your gift that's gonna give you
16:45a sense of meaning you can't be fulfilled without a sense of

17:03moment in which or maybe a day or an hour I don't know how long it lasts you

17:20doing what I loved it was giving it that 18,000 people and I was in the mode of
17:26doing what I felt ill and during one of the strengths break somebody ran up to
17:31me and told me we r company went public that day and I need four hundred million
17:36dollars that day and i member wow that is so cool and then went back to his
17:41doing which is what I love most which is serving people my passion you know
17:45people are feeling and I went home and I saw ya know what so much and I'm not
17:55saying that any cutesy way or an arrogant way it's just like what I
17:59thought would be like most unbelievable thing that wasn't just as my art you
18:06know my being given is wonderful and it's good thing it was neither company
18:12and I saw quite a bit of trouble in that company and so I wasn't completely a
18:20task wasn't happy about this is not by any stretch but my identity wasn't tied
18:23to it so they hit it wasn't throwing but I knew if I don't know I can do it again
18:28this process but my gift was still there I bring this up because you got to find
18:34out what your gift US and many of you know when to use many you think you know
18:39what it is
18:39remember what makes you successful build a beautiful things so success without
18:46fulfillment you know somebody's got everything they thought they wanted and
18:52then nothing till they got a real problem so what's going to make you
18:55filled finding your gift contribution life's not about me it's about week if
19:00we feel like we're contributing to someone else then we don't just get some
19:04we become something and what you get never makes you happy long-term who you
19:09become makes you very happy or very sad so part of that article two minutes
19:15what's my contribution the second part of his appreciation some of you are
19:19contributing but you're not taking the time to really appreciate you not
19:23noticing so the article sillman come from contribution and appreciation
19:32my career by producing products twenty-five years ago the way sold them
19:44and I thought that I needed to sell them in order to make the money that's been
19:49the pattern and the last 10 years I've been selling software that I created six
20:00months after that I thought that I had to be the entrepreneur and while I'm
20:08producing software time just goes on Monday morning comes in seattle is the
20:14weekend and I gotta stop running
20:19but he certainly has his arm right you know this because he believes will time
20:24disappears and I thought the only way to provide for my family and those that we
20:30provide for was 22 cell to cell into managed a company for the last 12 months
20:38will have lost half a million dollars issue when accompanied with a good
20:42product
20:43pretty obvious I can accompany my center so many times I get up on Monday morning
20:49I feel like vomiting because I don't feel competent I don't feel like I'm
20:54doing good job it seems decision not to sit decision I make the wrong decision I
21:00know I'm not an idiot i i no reason he smart guy then as I signed my wife just
21:08couple weeks ago I said I've actually lost my confidence because for a year
21:13every major decision I've made has turned out to be the wrong decision and
21:18I i don't know whether I'm able to make the right decision but that's because I
21:23was doing something that's not my nature that's great so I can hear the future
21:30looks very bleak because I'd lost my confidence and now that I've been
21:35reminded that that's not my nature
21:39better like I'm feeling good about myself again
21:47knowing what your nature and knowing its value meaning that it's not less
21:55valuable than running a company percent have you gotten a piece as well yes yes
22:01I can spoke to you when we were in platinum and you told me get out
22:07yes I did not how because if I didn't run the company I had no income have
22:15been struggling with that now that I know he's going back to what I'm
22:20passionate about and what I find so easy and that is creating yes and it's like
22:26an incredible load has been lifted off my shoulders I no longer feel guilty for
22:31my failure my cycle failure it's just relieved one of the most important
22:39lessons they've ever had in your life and maybe lets you can pass on to your
22:43children and save them an unbelievable amount of pain in their life so that
22:46they don't do the same thing because they think they should be like that I
22:49like mom was like a brother or sister or friend or what the Society's told them i
22:54think is the most important lessons and challenges we don't tend to remember
22:58that is easy as a true I mean when we succeed when we do we party when we fail
23:05to ponder upon during 6th from a cognitive down the emotional and
23:10eventually damn directly to the got your body and now the lesson comes when you
23:13don't forget I don't know there was a failure and I'm not just using it to be

28:36year he made a quarter million dollar grant monthly so now he is flying high
28:43and he's doing so well that the guy who is his stockbroker says two major
28:49incredibly good you gotta do this room so he introduces them to his boss and
28:54sure enough to get the Series seven license and now he's a stockbroker
28:57change as a stockbroker easy pickings deals just really really well and he
29:03makes almost a million dollars the next 12 months he does most of his own
29:08stock-picking make someone on the south but you are interested in picking
29:12pattern recognition and so sure enough he does this take an oversized ego is
29:18out of control he buys a brand limousine his own personal limousine hire a person
29:24to drive him he goes out partying every night and the woman who mocks him you
29:29have blown her off he starts chasing every woman that exist there and
29:33everything is wonderful his wife until one day who knows what happens to market
29:39crashes and sure enough as a market for Starcraft specifically his docs crash is
29:43the most important bang any losses everything everything but now he's been
29:48$2,000 and according to you throw down to missus there and he's like I can just
29:54get some money I can do it this week in this is a bank based on the monies
29:57earned last year 2009 money and the next thing you know if he's a quarter of a
30:02million dollars in Bohol owns noting his cars repossessed all his friends
30:07disappear they weren't really friends they were just people are getting
30:11resources and he's completely wrong and now he wants to kill himself because
30:18contrast a millionaire in a year I had everything I have no friends and no car
30:25no traction I don't have it I don't have a college degree I'm humiliated them
